Top quality PUL from Fabrite USA, this is a well known fabric, used by major nappy-makers worldwide to produce a quality, durable product.
"PUL" stands for "PolyUrethane Laminate". The Waterproofing layer is made from Polyurethane to form a sheet, that is Laminated with heat onto fabric. PUL can refer to Polyurethane laminated onto any type of fabric, it comes in many different qualities, from many producers.
We stock Fabrite's 1mil PUL only as we find 1mil PUL more flexible to work with, not "crackly/crunchy" and less likely to crack or split over time as thicker PULs can be. It also provides a high level of breathability. The thicker the polyurethane layer, the less the breathability.
Fabrite PUL far exceeds the durability of every other producer we have found. While the industry quality standard for PUL is to last 100 times through the laundry, Fabrite PUL well exceeds this many times over.
A reliable waterproof layer is the single most important component of any nappy system, making investment in quality PUL fabric invaluable, and ensuring your nappy has the potential to survive many children.
