In this Kit you will receive enough of everything you need to make approx three pocket nappies (depending on size and pattern used).
* PUL: your choice of colours, see drop down list (50cm x approx 150cm)
* Microfleece or Suedecloth: your choice of colours (150-170 x 50cm)
* Lastin (2m)
* Hook & Loop: your choice of colour (1m loop, 1m hook)
You will need to supply thread, preferably polyester sewing thread as it will not wick like cotton thread
You do not need an overlocker for this pattern, a sewing machine is fine.
A Free Pattern which can be used with this kit is available to download and print here at The Nappy Network (you only need the first 2 pages of the pattern to make a pocket nappy).
Free step by step directions are also available from The Nappy Network here.
A pocket nappy needs an absorbent insert to go inside it. Pockets are a great starter nappy as you can just use your old skool flat red stripe nappies folded into a pad for the insert. In fact you can use anything as the insert - a chopped up towel, a tea towel, whatever you have to hand.
Above you are able to order Microfibre inserts at the same time quickly. Feel free to check out our readymade inserts if you want to buy more inserts to use in your DIY pocket nappy another time, or you can purchase any absorbent fabric from us and have a go at making your own inserts up to your own preferred size and blend of fabrics.
